Vehicle Producers Are Actually Making An Effort To Create Eco-friendly Cars
January 27th, 2012The more we depend on fossil fuels, the more we will see our environment damaged by its effects. If we look at autos, that is where we can start to make modifications. In an attempt to address the problem with fuel emissions, auto makers are setting out to build more cars that will not harm the environment.
There are many different types of these environmentally friendly cars, the friendliest being a car that is battery powered. Because the vehicle is battery powered means doesn’t need for diesel or gasoline. Sounds excellent as it doesn’t require petrol, so you can save money and it’s eco-friendly which is terrific, but there is a downside. The auto engines themselves are somewhat restrictive right now but the cars are now available to customers. This means that you should recharge the battery after more or less 100 miles, so it doesn’t run very far on one run.
Consumers can as well look at another form of car, the hybrid car. Hybrid vehicles are eco friendly and they are both battery- and gas-powered. Allow me to explain how hybrids really run. It is the power from the battery that is utilized initially by the vehicle. When the hybrid achieves a particular speed, it starts using gasoline, giving the car a lot of power for the highway. The good thing about it using gasoline is that it recharges the battery automatically, meaning you don’t have to recharge it manually using an outside power source.
There is also another type of automobiles, called plug-in hybrid cars. They work much in the same way as the earlier hybrid car and aren’t detrimental to the environment. Take note, the typical hybrid vehicle does not need to be recharged separately whereas this is not the case with the plug-in hybrid. When it comes to fuel consumption, both types of hybrid cars seem to perform better than your typical car.
Toyota has produced a hybrid vehicle, called the Prius, that does approximately 50 miles a gallon, which is very good. This Toyota hybrid vehicle is regarded as one of the popular hybrids and can be had for approximately $22,000. Honda’s Insight hybrid car was the first of its kind to be sold and before Toyota made an entry in the hybrid market. The Honda Insight was not received in the same way as the Prius by Toyota but it opened the consumer market for hybrid vehicles. A multi-awarded hybrid car and priced at approximately $27,000 is the Ford Fusion Hybrid. It is viewed by many as the best hybrid in the US. A car which is believed to produce no emissions whatsoever is the i-MiEV from Mitsubishi. Mitsubish became among the firs automobile manufacturers to develop an electric automobile in Japan.
We are going to see ongoing development for this type of vehicle and numerous options for buyers looking for cars that are friendly to the environment.
